New Year Around The Conner

New Year ? For me is like a new start & new challenge ahead.
May this new year 2009 bring us good fortune, health, luck & happiness.

My Christmas Present

I haven't updated my blog for some time because busy with my project & field work. Anyway my favorite Tomb Raider Underworld haven't arrived in PS2 version yet. Thus, nothing to do during this Christmas holiday but went shopping in malls & shopping center with my family. Recently I came across some interest in photography & thinking of getting a good camera. The photography trend seems to be growing as digital camera were getting cheaper. There are many camera brands to choose from but always famous brands like Canon, Nikon & Olympus top the market. I decided to search for a DSLR in the market, as a beginner I would like to have a easy function camera rather than a complicated one. Budget also one of the important factor for me to choose the range of the DSLR. I'm getting a lot of information from web forums & reviews (http://www.dpreview.com/). There are a few models for me to decide, model as followings:

• Canon - 1000D / 400D / 450D

• Nikon - D40 / D60 / D90

• Olympus - E420 / E520

• Sony - Alpha 200 / Alpha 300

I really having a delimma choosing the above model. After advices from my from my photo "kaki" friends, I narrow down to Canon 450D & Nikon D90. Finally, on Chistmas Day I decided to go for Nikon D90 as my Christmas present for this year. Somehow the Nikon D90 with VR lens kit no stock at the moment so I have to wait for the stock to arrive. Hope after getting my new gadget I'll post more photos into my blog ^_^

Tomb Raider-Underworld

Tomb Raider were one of my favorite PS 2 games, the main game character LARA CROFT is a agile, tough, adventures & cool looking gal. The new game TOMB RAIDER UNDERWORLD has been released but I unable to get the game yet in Malaysia. Currently, I'm playing last release title Tomb Raider Anniversary as practicing before the new TR Underworld touch down to Malaysia. Hope can get it before this Christmas ^^.

Two weeks at Singapore

Well, I finally found a hotel on the 2nd week. Move to Classique Hotel at Jalan Besar, it looks a bit classic but the environment is much more better. The beds are bigger & bathroom got long bath. The price also not much different with the first hotel.

On Saturday, I took MRT from Ferrer Park to Harbour Front. Actually wanna go to Sentosa Island but the weather not alow as it rains the whole afternoon. Thus, I have to window shopping around Vivo City. Went to Toy R us to look for any new Transformer Animated arrival. No luck....:(

I got lucky because there were Ferrari & Mercedes F1 car road show. Captured many photos of the F1 car but sadly I'm not in the photo at all.

hehehe.... back to hotel to rest & later at night to Chinatown (Niu Cher Siu). Many lanterns were display cause Moon Cake Festival is around the conner....

NT Training at Singapore

Wow!! The hotel I'm staying actually is one of the sex war zone in area. The food court food not bad at all. Morning, I have breakfast at the 'kopitiam' before going for training place. At night dinner at the food court, then back to hotel. Try look for another better hotel but not manage to cause most of the hotel fully booked or out of my budget.

Went to wonder around Bugis area & do some shopping. Hunt for any latest release on the Tranformers Animated Series. Negative!! Even at "Toy R us".

Now, I'm at H81 Elegence Hotel Singapore. Today wake up at 630am & prepare for my training trip at Singapore. What type of transport I'm using? Flight? Nope, I'm taking bus from Penang to KL than switch bus from KL to Singapore. My NICE coach bus from Penang was fast, 4 hours reached KL. The whole journey I slept plus enjoy the food & drinks served. Listen to my i-pod Shuffle.

At the the bus station, I had to wait for 2 hour for NICE++ coach bus to Singapore. Luckily the bus station have a Nasi Kandar Restaurant beside it. Got myself a piece of chicken, fried onion egg & 1 glass of "teh tarik". The Nasi Kandar food not bad at all & the price is reasonable. I asked the staff at the waiting area for their toilet location & they pointed me to their ticketing office area. When I reach the toilet, a piece of paper written "Out Of Order". So, I go back to the waiting area to look for another washroom but I heard the station staff still telling the waiting passengers that toilet when they were asked. I had to go back to the Nasi Kandar Restaurant to borrow their washroom.

Ahh... finally I can aboard the coach & the start my journey to Singapore. It takes 5 hour journey from KL to Singapore. The same thing on the bus, I eat, drink & sleep. Oh! The place which I seated the air-con duct leaking water due to condensation. There were seats behind the bus but I refused to seat at the back because is a bit bumpy. The bus attendant gave me a whole stack of napkins for me to lay it on the leaking area. Finally reach Malaysia Immigration & have my passport check out from Malaysia. Then to the Singapore Immigration to check in, this is the 1st time from bus to the border.

Reach Copthorne Orchid Hotel S'pore & I took a cab to H81 Elegance Hotel near Jalan Besar. The hotel looks ok but the cigarette odour dammed strong even in the room. The room almost the same size like First World Hotel in Genting but the washroom much more better. Tomorrow my training starts.... must get some rest now. Cheers....!!

The Mummy - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Yesterday I & my school buddies went to watch The Mummy-Tomb of the Dragon. The story is about the Han Emperor try to find the elixir to become immortal & finally a sorceress cursed him to become a terracotta. His 10,000 armies turn to terracotta too.
After 2,000 year, Rick O'Cornell son Alex dig up the Emperor. Later was resurrected by the Eye of Shangri-la. The adventure begin as Rick, wife Evie, son Alex, Evie's brother Jonathan & the sorceress daughter try to prevent the Emperor from getting back into human form.

The Emperor managed to get his body form back by entering the pool of eternity & able transform into any creture forms. Furthermore he can control the earth five elements (earth, fire, water, wind & ice). He only can be kill by a dragon dagger & have to be piearce into his heart. That what happen in the end.....

My conclusion: Not bad at all but the story almost similar to The Mummy Returns, where the Scorpion King tries to come back & rule with his anubis armies. I gave 3 / 5 stars.

I'm not a profesional critics for movie rating but as I comment or rate the movie as an audiance's view.
